a couple of articles by me. I've been exploring with Jinx since 2000,
although these missions are very infrequent ever since one of the founding
members moved out of town.
http://www.forgotten-ny.com -
Excellent local history. This site is one of the first I go to when trying
to research an individual location.

THAT INCLUDE MY PHOTOS:
New
York Underground: Anatomy of a City by Julia Solis;
published by Routledge, 2004. Click HERE
for information about the book, or HERE
to see it on amazon.com.
This is an
excellent book by Julia Solis of Dark
Passage and Ars
Subterranea. With full-color plates; includes some of my photos
on the sections on sewers & storm drains and on Columbia University
tunnels.
Invisible
Frontier: Exploring the Tunnels, Ruins, and Rooftops of Hidden New
York.By "LB" Deyo and David "Lefty"
Lebowitz of the group urban exploration group Jinx
From the back
of the book:
In Invisible Frontier L.B. and Lefty chronicle Jinx's
dramatic-- if sometimes absurd-- exploration of a Dante-esque
New York, from the depths of the city's underground Hell (abandoned
aqueducts and subway tunnels) to the pinnacles of its Paradise
(rooftops and bridges) and everything in between, capturing the
genius of the city's engineering, the vibrancy of its found art,
and the elegiac beauty of its ruins.
Half history and half adventure, this book covers a year's
worth of explorations in New York City. I was part of many of
these explorations, which were organized by LB Deyo and Lefty
Lebowitz. The book includes only a few black and white photos
but delves deep into the contextual history of each of the locations
visited.
