Billy: Like a roller coaster. Sometimes it’s not bad. sometimes it’s bad. It’s bad tonight. It all depends on the people: sometimes they give, sometimes they don’.

Billy: Always the same sign. I just come up with it one day. Took a little while. First I had a sign that say, uh, "I work for food," then I thought up this one. This one works better than the other one. So I got to just using this one.

Billy: Don’t make no lot of money, just, you know, just enough to keep eating. Sometimes I’m lucky to make ten.

The majority of people pass you by. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Like I say, it’s a roller coaster. Then every now and then somebody will come along and get you off heavy. But it’s a rare thing. That’s why like the city-- because you never know what’ll happen next.
